In God’s Timing
Wait for the Lord; be strong , and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!-Psalm 27:14
Having a relationship that honors Christ ought to be a bond of love reflecting the love Christ has for His people; a bond of sacrificial, pure and holy love. As women we all desire to be loved, wanted , respected and honored. Yet we settle for the first good looking , sweet (at first) , ‘has his stuff together’ charming man we run into. I was that girl. Starting at a young age, I went through the entire relationship roller-coaster the verbal abuse, the jealousy, the cheating. I took on the housewife role, which led me to having two kids out of wedlock. I had my heart broken more than once by the men I thought I was “in love” with and whom I saw spending the rest of my life with. I understand how sad and lonely the nights can get without someone loving you and being there for you, but ladies you’re not alone.
After all of my heartaches, I can proudly say that I have finally opened my eyes and realized that I am NOT alone! I have an amazing King that loves me, honors me, respects me and has never and will never leave my side. The reason why none of these relationships ever lasted was because they were not Christ-centered and those men I dated weren’t the men God had planned for me. I had to learn to trust in the Lord and place my all in him, as it says in Proverbs 3:5-6, “trust in the Lord with all your heart and he will make your paths straight.” Trusting in the Lord and getting your heart right are the first steps to a successful godly relationship. How can one truly love another if he or she has yet to fall in love with their own creator? A man of Christ will lead you in the right way and will never hold you back from the calling that God has for you.
A man of Christ will hold your hand, stand by your side and support you. He is called to love you with an amazing everlasting love, as stated in Ephesians 5:25 “Husbands, love your wives just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her”. WOW!! What greater love can there be than the love that Christ has for the Church? This is how he has called our men to love us. God has a plan for all of us, and in His timing he will send you your Prince Charming, but you have to learn to trust in Him. He wants the best for his daughters, so of course our Lord and Savior has the best man lined up for us. A man that is God fearing, that will love you, honor you, and respect you. Most importantly, that man will be able to lead you to Christ.
Having the right heart towards the Lord will prepare you before getting into a relationship (courtship); a relationship that is Christ-centered, pure, and holy. It will keep you from temptations and will help you both honor the Lord’s will for your relationship. Once you do find this man, it is always important to have an accountability couple that can help you in times of need, to pray for you, encourage you and give you godly advice. So ladies, I encourage you to wait on the Lord for your Prince Charming. It’s SO worth it, and I’m speaking from experience: you are worthy of being loved and respected.
Remember ladies: You are beautiful and you are fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of Christ. Respect yourselves, love yourselves, and above all else trust in our King with your all. Surrender your hearts to him. He will never disappoint you!
